First Football Game and Meeting BFW

Last Thursday was the pre-season game for the Redskins vs Ravens.

Archer and Daddy went over to BFW's house for a Guy's Night.

This was a night of firsts for Archer - 1st Football Game, 1st Redskins Game, and 1st time meeting BFW!

Daddy sent me a text of this photo of BFW trying to "geektify" Baby Archer. Archer looks like a deer caught in the headlights. He's much too cool for that stuff!!

This is the guy that our friends' son, Sami thinks is Archer's Brother and used to "hide in my belly". After much laughter we had to assure him that No, BFW is not Archer's Brother, and No, BFW is not my son. Sami is still wary of our explanations and I don't think he believes us.

Making Friends

Earlier this week, we got to meet Baby M! So much fun! Baby M just turned 3 weeks and Baby A just turned 3 months. It's hard to believe they will be in the same grade at school!! Doesn't Baby M's mama look beautiful? Sorry for the grainy photos taken from Hubby's phone.

Archer is all dressed up to go watch his first football game (Redskins at that!) with Daddy and BFW!
He is wearing 3-6 month old sizes now (such a big boy - doesn't turn 3 months til tomorrow!). We purchased this Life is Good outfit at Getz' in Marquette!

3 month Stats

i know... I know...so many posts to read. It must be overwhelming. But I just realized that I neglected to post some important information that we must record if this is a true "baby book".

8/26 marked Archer's 3 month birthday. Sorry for the repeat image from Facebook, but this truly reflected Archer's attitude this week:

His stats from visiting the doctor earlier this week:
12 lbs, 4 oz
24 inches long
Giant head (like his Mama) - no actually - it's right on track
Weight and length are right on track.

Length and head in 50th percentile
Weight in 25th percentile (this shocked me as he is eating 40 oz+ a day).

I think following the doctor he had a major growth spurt - so I will have to go weigh him somewhere (maybe the produce section at Wal-Mart?) and update you all.

Baby Slings and Carriers

I must confess..I had visions of myself as a "wearing baby" parent. I thought my baby would LOVE to be close to me in a carrier and I could "carry on" (ha ha ha) with my daily routine, while "wearing" my baby. Well, Archer HATES the Baby Bjorn that our friends lent to us. We are so grateful to them for being so generous (I wish Archer was!). Which reminds me...must send back to them as they are expecting....

I bought the Moby Wrap and it's just too damn complicated to have to wrap on everytime and Archer HATES it!

So, I decided to give it one more try and did a whole bunch of research (i.e. reading random mom blogs, looking through the community boards on thebump.com, and googling). I decided I wanted a simple sling that I could just wear across my body like the Beauty Pageant Queen I never was.

Here is what i just ordered....

It's endorsed by Mr. Big and Denise Richards. That's who I always go to for parenting advice....Them and Jenny McCarthy.

And oh yeah, it was also featured on Grey's Anatomy and those are DOCTORS, right?

I will keep you posted and likely will have pictures up soon. Hopefully I will look all chic mama while "wearing" my well-behaved baby.



Splish Splash - I was taking a Bath

Archer has grown to LOVE baths. Thank you to the Moussa family for the bathtub!

Thank you to whomever bought Archer the Fireman Duck Faucet Cover. He stares, laughs, and chats with it for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Pregnancy and Ice Cream

Most of you know that I was on bedrest for 5 months during my pregnancy. A couple days before my scheduled c-section I was allowed some mild freedom. I took this to mean that I could go to Kline's Dairy Barn for some delicious ice cream. Here's a gem of a picture I just retrieved from Hubby's cell phone.  I am 39 weeks prego here.

It's time for Mama to get back in shape and FINALLY I can walk!! Here's the view from our walks in the local park- it sure doesn't hurt my motivation!!

Party in My Crib

Great Aunt Julie recently gave Archer a bib that says "Party in My Crib". And while Archer often wakes up surrounded by empty bottles - they aren't beer bottles, wine bottles, or whiskey bottles, but....you guessed it....milk bottles.

Here are some pics of Archer enjoying his crib during the day. We don't leave him in there alone with anything (for safety). Be assured, I was in his nursery cleaning and folding clothes while he chilled out in his crib with his Boppy Pillow.

And, yes, he has 2 mobiles. One is from Grammy and was part of the crib comforter set - it is manual and Archer LOVES it - he yells at me when it stops to twist it up again.

He also LOVES his Fisher Price Mobile from his Great Aunt Barbara - which also has a remote control - although I've been too lazy to get the screwdriver to take off the battery cover and insert a battery in the remote. It is such a PITA to be get past the baby-proofing.

Another visit with the Moussa's

During our first visit, Mateo was pretty jealous of Baby Archer - he begged his mama to hold him and feed him like I was doing with Archer. He wouldn't come near the baby. Don't get me wrong - he was really excited to see Archer. We arrived to their house to an entryway filled with toys that he and his brother had collected for Archer to play with. SO SWEET!!! We LOVE these boys.

This 2nd visit was a huge step in Archer and Mateo's relationship. When Archer and I arrived, everyone was upstairs watching a movie - they all kept watching the movie, but Mateo stayed downstairs with me and Baby Archer. He chatted away to Archer and Archer was in LOVE - idol worship of Big Boy Mateo. Archer giggled and chatted back and was soooo happy!!!

Archer doesn't look happy in this picture, but I think it's because I asked Mateo to turn away so I could take his picture and this interrupted the undivided attention that Archer demanded from Mateo.

Here Mateo was playing with Archer's new Wubba Nubb pacifier - Clifford the Big Red Dog. Mateo LOVES doggies so they really had fun playing together with Clifford.

Sami was so excited to watch me change Archer's diapers. He was disappointed with the contents of it, however, he stayed really close to Archer and is so gentle and sweet with him. You can see in this picture how Archer watches Sami. He loves him!!

1st Vacation - Trip to Big Bay, July 4, 2010

Oliver and Madeline rode in the very back of the Navigator. Mommy and Daddy took turns driving and sitting with you in the backseat. You were a very good traveller. We drove 18 hours straight through without spending the night anywhere!

We arrived around midnight and Grammy and Grandpa were waiting up for you. They were so happy to see you!!

You and Grammy spent lots of time on the swing. This is the swing that was on Grammy's porch when she was growing up.

You met so many relatives!!

You spent time with your cousin Jackson who is 8 months older than you and loved giving you kisses!
